Frankfurt Cathedral — Where Kings Got Their Crowns
The Frankfurt Cathedral called Dom Sankt Bartholomäus (Saint Bartholomeus' Cathedral) is a Gothic building.
With its height of 95m (312ft.) it is recognizable from far away.
It's beginnings go back as far as to the year 852, even though its real building year is on record for the year 1260.
Ten kings got their crown here between 1562 and 1792. And although the Frankfurt people call it a Cathedral, it has never been a Bishop's seat.
And the citizen are so strong that they rebuilt the Frankfurt Cathedral entirely even after a fire destroyed it in 1867.
It even contains an own museum with treasures like a gothic fair robe of 1350, for example.
This was a nice starting point of our Frankfurt Tour, wasn't it? let's move on to the Paulskirche, one of THE milestones in German History.
